oxidation of 2methyl,butan2-ol using oxidation of K2Cr2O7 gives mixture of acetone and acetaldehyde.Plz Explain how​ and why not only acetone or acetaldehyde is formed

Alcohols on strong oxidation become carboxylic acids .But here it is a tertiary alcohol hence a ketone and aldehyde is formed .

There is equal chance for cleavage of bond in such a way the a ketone can be formed and an aldehyde can be formed .hence a mixture .
