Oxidation state of Chromium in \mathrm{CrO}_{2} \mathrm{Cl}_{2} :

Here both O are double bonded with Cr and both Cl are bonded with single bond. Hence the oxidation state of O will be -2 and oxidation state of Cl will be -1.

Assume the oxidation state of Cr as x;

\begin{array}{l}{X+(2 \times-2)+(2 \times-1)=0} \\ \\ {X-4-2=0} \\ \\ {X=4+2} \\ \\{X=+6}\end{array}

Hence the oxidation state of Cr will be +6 here.

The structure of \mathrm{CrO}_{2} \mathrm{Cl}_{2} is as given in below attached image.
