6
oxidation no of CN
C=+2
N= -3
CN = +2-3 = -1

Total oxidation = 0

4(K) + Fe + 6 (CN) = 0
4(+1) + Fe + 6(-1) = 0
4 + Fe - 6 = 0
Fe - 2 = 0
Fe = +2

keerthika1998lekha: ya done
Anonymous: but carbon is -4 na
keerthika1998lekha: not in all case
keerthika1998lekha: oxidation of carbon is not stationary
Anonymous: how to know in which case what it is
Anonymous: ???? how can u prove it is +2 here
keerthika1998lekha: the position of hydrogen determines the o.no of carbon in cn'
Anonymous: ok
nekitha: very nice
keerthika1998lekha: thnkx
