=>Given Compound - KMnO4

▪Here we know that ,

Oxidation number of :

Potassium k = +1 ,

Oxygen = (4 × -2 ) = -8

✔Let oxidation number of Mn be x

•°• We have

=> x + 1 - 8 = 0

=> x - 7 = 0

=★ x = 7

•°• The oxidation number of Manganese ( Mn) is +7

[ Note ]

=> Oxidation Number is an imaginary charge that appears on an element that appears when it is in combined state with other elements

Thanks !!
