Phosphorus is one element that forms a number of oxoacids. A few common oxyacids include H3PO4, H3PO3, etc. In oxoacids of phosphorus, we can see that the phosphorus is tetrahedrally surrounded by other atoms. Generally, it is clear that there are at least one P=O bond and one P–OH bond in these acids.
