Oxide ions are arranged in HCP in HCP thre 6 oxide ions per unite cell.

Numbers of octahedral voids= no. of atom per unit cell.

=6

out of 6 octaheadral voids

So, 6×

= 2 voids are not there

hence 6−2=4 are present
