♣ OXIDISING AGENT

✍️ Those substances which oxidises other compounds or reduce themselves are called oxidizing agents.

✍️ They gain electrons to undergo self reduction.

✍️ Common oxidizing agents examples are :-

♦ oxygen

♦hydrogen peroxide

♦ Fluorine

♦ Chlorine

♦ Bromine

♦ Ozone

♦ Nitric acid

♦ Sulphuric acid

and many others

✍️ In a redox reaction,

♦ An oxidizing agent is referred to as a chemical compound that readily transfers oxygen atoms or a substance that gains electrons .

✍️ It is also called an oxidiser or an oxidant.
