non metals are oxidising agent because they tend to accept electrons that is reduction the substance which itself gets reduced by causing oxidation of others is an oxidizing agent example nonmetal

hope it helps you

Oxidizing is the tendency of metal and non metal which means the tendency of accepting their electrons from other metal and non metal.

In case of non metal

Non metal are Good oxidiser because they have more tendency of accepting electron, gain electrons while they are in their pure form.

information

  • nonmetals form covalent oxides with oxygen
  • phosphorus is a highly reactive non metal which catches fire in the contact with atmospheric oxygen.
  • Metals act as a reducing agent because they have tendency to donate electrons.
