Answer:

oxygen is at room temperature

Explanation:

My opinion (hence the word justify) doesnt come into the equation.

What you want to do is to be able to demonstrate for the presence of oxygen at room temperature.

Here is how you do it.

Light a match.

Ok, only do this if you know its JUST air thats available.

You do this around methane and we can scrape you off the sidewalk.

If you want to demonstrate that the rules that are listed for oxygen as developed through experimentation .. and the loss of a couple of scientists in the process .. then you can look up the methodology and see if you can derive your own conclusions.

That’s all the Science is .. theorise .. demonstrate .. conclude .. repeat.

The only step you miss by not being a scientist is determining the initial theory. The conclusions as they stand are based off a demonstration and an observation that can be repeated amongst peers.

If you want to write new rules for oxygen please be my guest .. you can look at the observations .. you can try out the theory .. or you can invent your own .. if it passes the test as science .. other people may take it on.

But considering you have a basket of 250 years worth of scientific method (albeit revised continually) to choose from … try a little bit of previous knowledge to help you get further … quicker.
