Oxygen is a gas but Sulphur is solid why?

Oxygen is smaller in size as compared to sulphur.Intermolecular forces in oxygen are also weak which causes it to exist as gas.,but on the other side sulphur does not form M2 but the structure is held together by strong bonds.Therefore,sulphur is solid.
