Yes oxygen is indeed a waste product for plants but it is an essential part of the human and animal race.
We all (plants and animal) are mutually benefitting each other:-
1)Plants take in carbon dioxide and produces oxygen as a waste product
2)Animals take in oxygen and gives out carbon dioxide as waste product
3)the waste product of animals carbon dioxide is an essential need of plants
4)the waste product of plants oxygen is an essential need of animals
