Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. Photosynthesis in green plants harnesses the energy of sunlight to convert carbon dioxide, water, and minerals into organic compounds and gaseous oxygen

Anoxygenic photosynthesis does not produce oxygen during the reaction.

EXPLANATION:

Several groups of bacteria perform anoxygenic photosynthesis.

For example: green sulphur bacteria, red and green filamentous phototrophs, acidobacteria etc.

Green Sulphur Bacteria will grow only under the anoxic conditions. They use the sulphide ions as electron donors. They are the family anaerobic photoautotropic bacteria. Green sulphur bacteria use hydrogen sulphide instead of water and perform anoxygenic photosynthesis. So, oxygen is not produced.
