Ozone is another form of element oxygen. The atomicity of oxygen in ozone is 1.5 times that of oxygen in oxygen molecules.
Derive the formula of ozone.?

Ozone at the higher levels of the atmosphere is a product of UV  radiation acting on oxygen (O2) molecule. The higher energy UV  radiations split apart some molecular oxygen (O2) into free oxygen (O)

atoms. These atoms then combine with the molecular oxygen to form  ozone as shown:

O2 → O + O (in the presence of UV)

O + O2 → O3

One molecule of ozone (O3) is composed of three atoms. Thus, the atomicity of oxygen in ozone is 3.

hope it helps..
