There is presence of O2 ( oxygen molecules ) in atmosphere ,even in uppar part of it .

But when ultra radiations from sun fall on this o2 molecule , it absorbed the UV rays and splits into two [O] atoms

by UV rays:

O2 ---------->[O] [O]

One Oxygen atom is highly reactive, therefore it reactes with another O2 present near by and form O3

which is ozone

[O] + O2---------> O3
