Ozone molecules are constantly formed and destroyed in the atmosphere. A

picture (cartoon) showing how ozone molecules are formed is shown below.

A family member of yours who has never studied about this tries to understand

the cartoon pictures but is unable to understand it. He knows that there are no

such living forms in atmosphere but he is not able to understand names like O, O2

and O3 and also the process explained.

How would you explain it to that family member? State in your

We will explain them by showing the chemical reaction

Answer:

  • ozone is an {O₃}  molecule which is formed by 3 molecules of oxygen. ozonosphere is an atmospheric layer that is the most important layer. it protects us from UV radiation which is directly coming from sun. if our skin comes in contact with UV rays it will cause skin cancer and also other skin-related diseases like irritation and redness of the skin.

  • chemically ozone is a  bent structure, triatomic also. but all things are able to understand when you study if you want to explain to your family you can give the following example.

  • ozone is of 2 types
  • bad ozone
  • good ozone

good ozone is present in stratosphere .  but due to some dangerous activity of humans ozone layer get hole over the antartica sea.but thanks to lockdown it is hilling again during this lockdown period.

take a example of school.

suppose,

  • principal = ozone layer
  • teachers =   earth /other atmospheric layer
  • students = population of earth

  • the principal is ahead of school. they have rights and power to control the school and teacher.  exactly as an ozone layer.it also has the power to protect us from harmful radiation.
  • earth is also playing an important role they work like transport system they provide us various information.,as other atmospheric layers do.

  • students are population. the main motive of this all to protect and keep us healthy.
