Given that p+1, p+3, 3p-1 are in A.P.

Thus, difference between terms, 'd' must be equal.

Equating,

(p+3) - (p+1) = (3p-1) - (p+3)

=> 2 = 2p - 4

=> 6 = 2p

=> p = 3.

This is your answer!
