For finding the value of p we need to bring all the terms to one side of the equal to sign.

So we will transpose that is shift 199 to the other side of equal to sign.

Note that when a number is transposed that is taken to other side ; its sign changes .

Following the steps above ; we will solve the given problem :

\longrightarrow{\tt{p - 199 = 121}}

\longrightarrow{\tt{p = 121 + 199}}

\large{\boxed{\implies{\tt{p = 320}}}}

So the value of p is 320 .

So when 199 is subtracted from 320 we get 121.

Verification :

320 - 199 = 121

121 = 121

LHS = RHS

hence verified

Answer:

Given:

  • p - 199 = 121.

Find:

  • Find the value of p.

Calculations:

  • Transposing 199 to RHS.

Required equation:

⇢p = 121 - 199

  • Now, adding 121 with 199 we get the value of p.

Required equation:

⇢ p = 121 + 199

  • Now, the result of the above calculating is the value of p.

Required solution:

⇢ p = 320

  • We can verify our answer easily by subtracting the value of p with 122.

VERIFICATION:

⇢ 320 - 199

⇢ 121

⇢ 121 = 121

⇢ LHS is equal to RHS.
