$(p + 2)^{2} = (p - 5)^{2} \\ p ^{2} + 4p + 4 = p ^{2} - 10p + 25 \\ 4p + 10p = 25 - 4 \\ 14p = 21 \\p = 21 \div 14 \\ p = \frac{3}{2}$
