please refer to the above attachment and the required steps are :-




✔️Firstly Factorise the number 6.

✔️Then split the middle term in such a way that the sum of that number is equal to the last digit....

✔️ Now take common terms {Like terms}...

✔️ Now after taking common terms put brackets..

✔️ Finally you get the value required....

 {p}^{2}  + 5p + 6  \\ \\  =  {p}^{2}  + 3p + 2p + 6  \\ \\  = p(p + 3) + 2(p + 3) \\   \\ = (p + 3)(p + 2) \\ p =  - 3 \\ or \\ p =  - 2
