p(x) = x^{3}  + 3x ^{2}  - x + 5 \\  p(3)= (3)^{3}  + 3(3)^{2}  - 3 + 5 \\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: = 27 + 27 - 3 + 5 \\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:= 54 + 2 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  = 56
