(p + 40)° and (4p)° are the measures of two supplementary angles. What is the measure of bigger angle?

Answer:

First angle = (p + 40)°

Second angle = (4p)°

As these two measures supplementary angles i.e (p + 40)° + (4p)° = 360°

So,

(p + 40)° + (4p)° = 360°

=> p° + 40° + 4p° = 360°

=> p° + 4p° = 360° - 40°

=> 5p° = 320°

=> p° = 320°/5

=> p° = 64°

First angle = (p + 40)° = 64° + 40° = 104°

Second angle = 4p° = 4 × 64° = 256°

So, the second angle is bigger angle.
