Hope this helps you ;)

Given:

Perpendicular is 8 units

Hypotenuse is 10 units

To find:

lenght of the base

Solution:

Using pythagoras theorem,

 {p}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  =  {h}^{2}

 {8}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  =  {10}^{2}

 {b}^{2}  = 100 - 64

b =  \sqrt{36}

b = 6 units

Answer:

According to Pythagoras theorem:

(Hypotenuse)^2=(Perpendicular)^2+(Base)^2

⇒(10)^2=(8)^2+(Base)^2

⇒100=64+(Base)^2

⇒(Base)^2=100-64=36

⇒Base=6
