P and Q are two concentric metallic shells. If Pis positively charged and Q is earthed. then :-

(1) charge density on Q is same as on P
(2) electric field between P & Q is uniform
(3) electric potential inside P is zero
(4) electric field outside Q is zero

⭐⭐AMSWER IS (4) BUT WHY (3) IS NOT CORRECT⭐⭐

Answer:

4 is correct.

  • in case of option 3 if we talk about electric feild then it is correct because according ti guass's law intensity of electric feild inside a hollow charged (whether charge is +ive or -ive) sphere is zero because flux is zero as (q/€°=0) so E is also zero inside P.
  • but there us electric potential in P not electric feild so that's why it is incorrect.
  • and electric feild outside Q is zero because when we grounded something its excess charge us shifted to earth so outside charge is zero and E is also zero.

hope it is helpful.
