P and Q each have certain number of apples. A says to B, “if you give me 10 of your apples, I will have twice the number of apples left with you”. B replies, “if you give me 10 of your apples, I will the same number of apples as left with you.” Find the number of apples with P and Q separately.

Answer:

A have 70 apples and B has 50 apples

Step-by-step explanation:

Let A and B are having a and b apples

if B gives  10 apples to A then A will have twice the number of apples left with B.

So a+10=2*(b-10)

a+10=2b-20

a=2b-30...............(1)

If A gives 10 apples to B then both have equal apples

so a-10=b+10

Putiing a=2b-30

2b-30-10=b+10

b=50

From(1)

a=2*50-30=100-30=70
