Step-by-step explanation:

P, Q and R together can complete a piece of work in 20 days

∴ Part of work P, Q and R can do in a day = 1/20

P, Q and R together do the work for 8 days

∴ Part of work done by P, Q and R in these 8 days = 8/20 = 2/5

Remaining part = 1 – (2/5) = 3/5

∵ 3/5 part of the work is done by P and R together in 20 days

Part of work done by P and R in a day

= 3/5 × 1/20

= 3/100

∴ Part of work done by Q in a day

= Part of work P, Q and R can do in a day – Part of work done by P and R in a day

= 1/20 - 3/100

= 2/100

= 1/50

∴ Q can alone do the work in 50 days
