Sacrificing Ratio of P, Q = 7:5.

New Ratio of P, Q, R = 3:1:4.

Explanation:

Old Ratio of P, Q = 5:3

R's share = 1/4 share

  • Calculation of Sacrificing Ratio:

Share sacrificed = Old Share X Proportion of share sacrificed.

P's sacrifice

=5/8 - 75% of 1/4

= 7/16

Q's sacrifice

=3/8 - 25% of 1/4

= 5/16

Thus, Sacrificing Ratio of P and Q = 7:5

  • Calculation of New Ratio of P, Q and R

New share = Old share - Share sacrificed

P's new share

=5/8 - 7/16

= 3/16

Q's new share

=3/8 - 5/16

= 1/16

R's new share

=1/4 X 4/4

= 4/16

Thus, New Ratio of P, Q and R = 3:1:4
