P and R have pocket money in the ratio = 5:3
Let P have 5x  amount
and R have 3x
When P gives 20 to R then 
P has 5x-20
R has 3x+20
The ratio = (5x - 20):(3x + 20)
Given the ratios are equal
⇒ 5x - 20 = 3x+20
⇒ 5x - 3x = 20+20
⇒ 2x = 40
⇒ x = 40/2
∴ x = 20
P had 5x = 5(20) = 100
Amd R had = 3x = 3(20) = 60
