Question:

P can do a piece of work in 20 days. q is 25 percent more efficient than p. in how many days half the work is completed when both are working simultaneously?

Solution:

P can do a piece of work in 20 days. i.e. 20 days - 1 work.

In 1 day - 1/20 part of the work.

Q is 25 percent more efficient than P. i.e. Q will take 20 - 25% of 20 days = 15 days.

In 1 day - 1/15 part of the work.

In 2 days the combined work = 1/20 + 1/15 part of the work.

or, 7/60 part of the work.

Therefore, to complete full work, no of days = 120/7 days

Therefore, to complete half the work, no of days = 60/7 days

hope it is helpful for you

Step-by-step explanation:

p can complete the entire work in 30 days

1 day amount of work in p = 1/30

suppose p is working 100% efficiency so q is more 125 %

if p does 1/30 amount of work so q does 125% of 1/30

125/100* 1/30 =1/24

q complete 1/24 amount of work

Answer : so, q complete the work in 24 days
