Hey there!!

p completes the work in 6 days

q completes the work in 3 days

P's one day work = ( 1 ÷ 6 )

q's one day work = ( 1 ÷ 3 )

If both of them work together :

Their one day work = ( 1 ÷ 6 ) + ( 1 ÷ 3 )

⇒ LCM = 6

⇒ ( 1 + 2 ) ÷ 6

⇒ 3 ÷ 6 ⇒ 1 ÷ 2

One day work = ( 1 ÷ 2 )

Their total days = 2 days

P and q will complete the work in 2 days

☻ Heya ☻

Given that

" P " does a work in " 6 days "

And " q " does the same work in " 3 " days

To find = In how many days they will do the same work together ?

Such type of questions can be solved by two methods.

1st ""

By using formula

Both will finish the same work = a + b / ab

⇒ 6 + 3 / 6 × 3

⇒ 9 / 18

⇒ 1 / 2

or ""

2nd method ,

p does a work in = 6 days

one day work of p = 1 / 6

And

∵ q does the same work = 3 days

∴ one day work of q = 1 / 3

Together they will finish ,

1 / 6 + 1 / 3

⇒ 3 / 6

⇒ 1 / 2

Hence , both will complete the same work in 2 days.

Thanks
