P is a point in the exterior of a circle having centre O and radius 24. OP = 25. A tangent from P touches the circle at Q. Find PQ.

After drawing circle with tangent,we have seen right angle triangle formed at Q.

In ΔOPQ,

Using Pythagoras Theorem.

 PQ^{2} +OQ^{2} = OP^{2}

 PQ^{2} = 25^{2} - 24^{2}   = 49

Hence, PQ = 7
