Given:

P is a point in the interior of rectangle ABCD. P is joined to each of the vertices of the rectangle and the lengths of PA, PB and PC are 3cm, 4cm and 5cm respectively

To find:

Find the length of PD

Solution:

From given, we have,

P is a point in the interior of rectangle ABCD.

The lengths of PA, PB and PC are 3cm, 4cm and 5cm respectively

Using the properties of a rectangle, we get,

PA² + PC² = PB² + PD²

3² + 5² = 4² + PD²

9 + 25 = 16 + PD²

34 = 16 + PD²

PD² = 34 - 16 = 18

PD = √18 = 3√2

∴ The length of PD is 3√2 cm
