any point on x -axis having abscissa x is (x,0)
so on given question abcessea is -6
so, point be (-6,0)
by distance formulla
 \sqrt{(2 + 6) {}^{2}  + (15 - 0) {}^{2} }  \\  \sqrt{(8) {}^{2} + (15) }  {}^{2} \\  \sqrt{(64 + 225)}   \\  = 17
