P is the point (4,5). Pq is drawn perpenicular to x-axis, meeting it at Q. What is the length of pQ?

Coordinate of point P is (4,5)
As PQ is drawn perpendicular to X - axis, Coordinate of point Q is (4,0)
By Distance formula we can find the length of PQ :
PQ =   \sqrt {(x_{2} -  x_{1})^{2} } + {(y_{2} -  y_{1})^{2}}
            = \sqrt {(4 - 4)^{2} } + {(0 - 5)^{2}}
            = \sqrt{(- 5)^{2}}
            = \sqrt{25}
            = 5 units.
