P is the point (- 5, 3) and Q is the point (- 5, m). If sum of abscissa and ordinates of both points equal then find the possible value of m.

To find:

The possible value of m if sum of abscissa and ordinates of both points are equal.

Solution:

Sum of abscissa = -5 + (-5) = -10

Sum of ordinate = 3 + m

Since, Sum of abscissa = Sum of ordinate

So, -10 = 3 + m

m = -10 - 3

m = -13

So, value of m = -13
