Answer:

\\p(m) =m^2+3m+1

now substituting the value of 1 in p(m)

p(1)=(1)^2+3(1)+1\\     =1+3+1\\=5

now substituting the value of -1 in p(m)

p(-1)=(-1)^2+3(-1)+1\\= 1-3+1\\= -1
