     p(x) = 2x + 5 
     p(x) = 0      
 2x + 5 = 0
       x   = -5/2
       
The zero of the polynomial is -5/2 


Put the value of x in p(x)
      2x + 5 
   = 2 × -5/2  + 5
   = -5 + 5
   = 0
 hence proved

p(x) = 2x+5

p(x) = 0

2x+5=0

2x = -5

x = -5/2

Therefore, -5/2 is zero of the polynomial p(x)

Checking :-

Put x= -5/2

p(-5/2) = 2(-5/2)+5

= -5+5

= 0

Hence proved
