Carbonates of 1st gp. except Lithium are thermaly stable. So do not decompose on heating and do not give any gas

Sry covalent charchter decreases
So u mean to say that doen the group covalent character decreases and ionic chracter increses
This means that ionicbonds are stronger than covalent bonds
