Given : P, Q, R and S are partners sharing profit in the ratio 6:5:3:2

S retires from the firm.

To Find : new profit-sharing ratio

(a) 6:5:3  (b) 6:5:2 (c) 6:5:4 (d) 1:1:1

Solution:

P, Q, R and S are partners sharing profit in the ratio 6:5:3:2

P share = 6x

Q share = 5x

R share = 3x

S Share = 2x

Total = 6x + 5x + 3x + 2x  = 16x

Now S retires   Hence 2x is distributed between 3 in same ratio as they have

Hence  Ratio is  6 : 5  : 3

Correct option is  a) 6 : 5 : 3
