Given :- P, Q , R, S , T and U are six runners.

Statements :-

  1. P is Faster than U who and not the slowest of all.
  2. Q is faster than S and Q is not the fastest of all.
  3. S is the fourth fastest.
  4. T is the fifth fastest

To Find :- who is the slowest of all ?

Answer :-

Let us assume that, position of all 6 runners from fastest to slowest is 1, 2, 3, 4 , 5 and 6 .

so, from statement (3) and (4) :-

  • 1 , 2, 3, S , T , 6 .

now, from statement (1) :-

  • 1 , P, U, S , T , 6 .
  • P , U, 3, S , T , 6 .
  • P , 2, U, S , T , 6 .

from statement (2) :-

  • P , U, Q, S , T , 6 .
  • P , Q, U, S , T , 6 .

therefore, All six runners from fastest to slowest will be ,

  • (P , U, Q, S , T , R) or (P , Q, U, S , T , R).

Hence, R is slowest of all .
