1. The kidnappers thought that this was a good idea because they thought that the boy's father was so rich that he will give whatever amount they asked to them.

2. The kidnappers were terrified by the boy because he torchered them so much that they couldn't bare. He hit the kidnappers with stone, didnt let them sleep, etc.
