P buys at ?
P sells at 20% profit.
Q buys at ?
Q sells at 25%profit i.e 255.
Let CP to Q be 'x'
We know that,
profit=SP-CP=255-x
and,
Profit%=(profit/CP)×100

25={(255-x)/x}×100

25x=25500-100x

x=25500/125

x=204

Hence CP to Q=Rs204
Now,
let CP to P be 'y'.
Profit=204-y
and,
profit%=(profit/CP)×100

20={(204-y)/y}×100

20y=20400-100y

y=20400/120

y=170

Hence CP to P =Rs170

Rs. 170 is the cost price of the bag.

R = Q + 25% = 125%
255 = Q + 25%
Q = 255 - 25%
Q = 255x100/125
=> Q = 204

Q = P + 20% = 120%
204 = P + 20%
P = 204 - 20%
P = 204x100/120
=> P = 170

hence, cost price is Rs. 170

KamalDubey: you can calculate according to 170.
KamalDubey: you will get the answee
gani123: ok thanks
KamalDubey: 170 +20% = 170+34 = 204
gani123: hm ok
KamalDubey: 204 + 25% =204+51 = 255
KamalDubey: hence 170 is CP
