let 5+3 root 2 be an rational no.

so. 5+3 root 2 =a/b ,where b is not equal to 0

Step-by-step explanation:

5+3 root 2 =a/b

3 root 2 = a/b - 5

3 root 2 = a - 5b/b

root 2 = a - 5b / 3b

hence , rhs , root 2 is an irrational number

hence , lhs , (integer) - 5(integer) / 3(integer)

therefore this contradicts our assumption and hence p.t 5+3 root 2 is an irrational number
