Answer:

x + 1 = 0

x = - 1

p(x) = 2x^3 + x^2 - 2x - 1

p(-1) = 2(-1)^3 + (-1)^2 - 2(-1) - 1

- 2 + 1 + 2 - 1

Hence g(x) is the factor of p(x)

Hope it helps to you!!
