Given:

p(x) = 4x + 3x² + 2x - 9

x-2 = 0 =>x = 2

Substituting x = 2 in p(x)

p(2) = 4(2) + 3(2)² + 2(2) -9

= 8 + 3(4) + 4 - 9

= 8 + 12 + 4 - 9

= 24 - 9

= 15
