p(x)= 7x square - 4 root 2x - 6 ,g(x) = x- root 2, show that p(x) is the factor of g(x)

Answer:

If g(x) is a factor of p(x), then g(x) = 0 and p(x) = 0

So, x- root2 = 0

=> x = root2

Now, p(root2) = 7(root2)^2 - 4(root2)(root2)-6 = 0

Hence, g(x) is a factor of p(x).
