a polynomial in any variable cannot contain its power in the form of fraction or negative so the power of a variable in its polynomial is always integral and positive if it is direction value then it cannot be a polynomial and

here the power of X is 3/2 which is not an integer so it is not a polynomial

hey mate......

p(x) = √(3x) +1 is not a polynomial. bcoz..... there is a non-integral value on the variable (x).
