Answer:

The remainder is 21

here the divisor is x-2 so,

X=+2

then put this value in the dividend

i.e;2^4+2(2)^3-3(2)^2+2-1

so,16+16-12+2-1=21

which means the remainder is 21

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

P(x)=x

4 −3x  3 +2x  2 +x−1

WE know that if P(x) be a polynomial then there exist two polynomial Q(x) & R(x) such that:

P(x)=(x−2)Q(x)+R(x)...(1)

Now

Rearrange given polynomial as:

x4−3x  3  +2x  2 +x−1=x  4  −2x  3  −x  3 +2x  2+x−2+1

x 4 −3x  3  +2x  2 +x−1=x  3  (x−2)−x  2 (x−2)+1(x−2)+1

x 4 −3x  3 +2x  2 +x−1=(x  3  −x  2  +1)(x−2)+1

P(x)=(x3 −x 2= 10)(x−2)+1...(2)

Compering equation 1&2

R(x)=1

Remainder is 1when P(x) is divided by x−2
