SOLUTION

GIVEN

p(x) = x² - 1

TO CHECK

x = - 1 , 1 whether value of x is zero of the polynomial or not

EVALUATION

Here the given polynomial is

p(x) = x² - 1

Now Putting x = - 1 we get

 \sf{p( - 1) =  {( - 1)}^{2}  - 1 = 1 - 1 = 0}

So - 1 is a zero of p(x)

Again Putting x = 1 we get

 \sf{p( 1) =  {(  1)}^{2}  - 1 = 1 - 1 = 0}

So 1 is a zero of p(x)

Hence - 1 and 1 are zeros of p(x)
