Given: p(x) = x^2 - x^2 + x + 1

To find: p(-1) + p(1)/2

First let us find the value of p(-1)

p(x) = x^2 - x^2 + x + 1

p(-1) = (-1)^2 - (-1)^2 + (-1) + 1

= 1 - 1 - 1 + 1

= 0

Now the value of p(1)

p(x) = x^2 - x^2 + x + 1

p(1) = (1)^2 - (1)^2 + 1 + 1

= 1 - 1 + 1 + 1

= 2

Therefore p(-1) + p(1)/2 = 0 + 2/2

= 2/2

= 1

Hope it helps :)
