formula for quadratic equations =-b+-\sqrt{b^{2} -4ac} /2a

where b is the coefficient of x and a is the  coefficient of x square and c is the last apply this formula you will get

  -2+-\sqrt{2^{2}-4*1*1 }/2*1

you will get -2+-0/2

which is -1 and -1 are your roots
